2020 American Eagle Gold Design Details
The obverse design features an Augustus Saint-Gaudens full-length figure of Liberty. She has flowing hair, holds a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left and is surrounded by 50 stars. Behind her the sun’s rays are shining to the dawn of a new day behind a distant Capital Building in the lower left.
On the right appears the year of mintage 2020 and underneath, the designers initials āASGā for Augustus Saint-Gaudens. TheĀ āWā denotes the West Point Mint.
For the last time ever, the reverse design features a male eagle carrying an olive branch to the nest of a female eagle and eaglets. On the edge appearsā United States of America, 1 oz. Fine Gold ~ 50 Dollars. On either side are the words E Pluribus Unum and In God We Trust.
Under the nesting family of eagles is are initials “MB” for Miley Busiek for reverse designer and “JW” for Sherl Joseph Winter, the original engraver. It alsoĀ features a finely reeded edge.
