Sooner or later everyone sells their Gold, Silver, and Rare Coins— or they hand them down quietly to future generations. Just an important as who you buy coins from— is who you sell to.
My Best Advice When You Sell Coins
Never sell your Gold, Silver, or Rare Coins to a pawn shop or someone with a hanging banner that says “We Buy Gold & Silver.” These guys have an amazing way of cheating people and often will pay half or at least 30% less than your collection is worth.
While my link says “We Buy Coins” we really don’t. We are not in the coin business. But the company I once founded and owned will buy Gold Coins, Silver Coins, Rare Coins, and just about anything made of precious metals.
Consider First Selling to Austin Rare Coins
I recommend you talk directly to the buyers at Austin Rare Coins before you leave home or think about going to your vault. With Covid lockdowns, you need both security for your coins and security for your health.
If you have invoices or a record of what you have, they can get started over the phone. With very large collections, they will want to walk you through the coin buying process step by step.
